Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be non-Archimedean normed spaces such that one of them has dimension greater than one. Suppose that \(f : X \to Y\) is a surjective mapping such that for any positive integer \(n\), \(\|x-y\|=n\) if and only if \(\|f(x)-f(y)\| =n\) for all \(x, y \in X\). The authors prove that \(f\) is an injective mapping satisfying \(-1 < \|f(x)-f(y)\|-\|x-y\| < 1\) for all \(x, y \in X\). Thus they investigate the Aleksandrov problem on non-Archimedean normed spaces. Further results in this direction are presented by \textit{A. Kubzdela} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 75, No. 4, 2060--2068 (2012; Zbl 1248.46050)]. The interested reader is referred to \textit{L. Tan} and \textit{S. Xiang} [Banach J. Math. Anal. 1, No. 1, 11--22 (2007; Zbl 1130.39027)] for more information on the classical Aleksandrov problem asking whether the existence of a single preserved distance implies that \(f\) is an isometry from a metric space \(X\) into itself.
