The author generalizes the Euler \(\Pi\) function \(\Pi(z)=\Gamma(z+1)\) in an interesting way. In place of \[ \Pi(n)=n\cdot(n-1)\cdots2\cdot1=n! \] the author considers the function \[ \Pi_d^a(a+nd)=a(a+d)(a+2d)\cdots(a+nd) \] for suitable fixed parameters \(a\) and \(b\), and then extends it to a complex meromorphic function in the variable \(n\). For this new complex function, the Weierstrass product representation and Gauss-like multiplication formulas are worked out. It turns out that in this generalized framework one can prove the classical Gauss multiplication formula more easily. Finally, it is worth to mention that generalized gamma constants connected to \(\Pi_d^a\) are also defined and used in the paper.
