A formal one-dimensional Dirac operator \[ D :=\sigma_1\frac{d}{dx} + P \] is considered on an interval \(G\subset \mathbb R\), where \(P(x)\) is a complex-valued matrix with entries from \(L_1^{\text{loc}}(G)\), and \(\sigma_1\) is the Pauli matrix. Let \(u_0(\lambda, x)\) be a vector eigenfunction satisfying \(Du_0=\lambda u_0\), and let \(u_{k}(\lambda, x)\), \(k\geq 1\), be the associated (root) vector functions, which are absolutely continuous on any compact interval \(K\subset G\) and satisfy \(Du_k=\lambda u_k- u_{k -1}\). For these root functions, the authors derive the shift formula \(u_{k}(x\pm t)=\sum_{j=0}^k F_j^\pm(t)u_{k-j}(x)\) and give estimates on the matrices \(F_j^\pm(t)\). They also propose several two-sides and one-side estimates for the \(L_p^2(K)\)-norms of these functions for different \(p\geq 1\).
