Fixed space of positive trace-preserving super-operators (Q445832)

The paper compares the properties of completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) and positive trace-preserving (PTP) superoperators, both important tools in quantum information theory. While a full characterisation of the fixed space of CPTP superoperators is known, a comparable characterisation for PTP superoperators has been missing. This paper addresses this gap and prooves two main lemmas and a theorem characterising the fixed state space of PTP. While the results fall short of a full characterisation comparable to that for the CPTP maps, they fully characterise two special cases: i) states having distinct eigenvalues and ii) complete positivity of the superoperator connecting it to the CPTP result. The arguments presented in the paper appear sound, and the results are interesting.
