      Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be topological spaces. A mapping \(f:X\to Y\) is called sequence-covering if whenever \(\{y_n\}_{n\in\mathbb N}\) is a sequence on \(Y\) converging to a point \(y\in Y\), then there are a sequence of points \(x_n\in f^{-1}(y_n),\;n\in\mathbb N\), and a point \(x\in X\) such that NEWLINE\[NEWLINE x\in f^{-1}(y)\quad\text{and}\quad x_n\to x. NEWLINE\]NEWLINE A space \(X\) is called strictly Fréchet if whenever \(\{A_n\}_{n\in\mathbb N}\) is a sequence of subsets of \(X\) and a point \(x\in\bigcap_{n\in\mathbb N}\overline A_n\), then, for every \(n\in\mathbb N\), there is \(x_n\in A_n\) such that \(x_n\to x\). A mapping \(f:X\to Y\) is called strictly countably bi-quotient if for every \(y\in Y\) and every open cover \(\{U_n:n\in\mathbb N,\;U_n\subseteq X\}\) of \(f^{-1}(y)\) there is \(m\in\mathbb N\) such that \(y\in int(f(U_m))\).NEWLINENEWLINEThe authors prove the followingNEWLINENEWLINE{Theorem.} Let \(X\) be a topological space. The following statements are equivalent.NEWLINENEWLINE(i) \(X\) is a strictly Fréchet space.NEWLINENEWLINE(ii) Every sequence-covering mapping onto \(X\) is strictly countably bi-quotient.NEWLINENEWLINE(iii) \(X\) is a strictly countably bi-quotient image of a metric space.NEWLINENEWLINEWrite \(ac A\) for all the set of all accumulation points of a set \(A\).NEWLINENEWLINEThe following concept is introduced in the paper.NEWLINENEWLINE{Definition.} A space \(X\) is a strict accessibility space if whenever \(\{A_n\}_{n\in\mathbb N}\) is a sequence of subsets of \(X\) and \(x\in ac A_n\) for every \(n\in\mathbb N\), then there exists a closed set \(C\subseteq X\) such that NEWLINE\[NEWLINE x\in ac C \quad\text{and}\quad x\not\in ac(C-A_n) NEWLINE\]NEWLINE for every \(n\in\mathbb N\).NEWLINENEWLINE{Theorem.} A \(T_1\)-space \(Y\) is a strict accessibility space if and only if every quotient mapping onto \(Y\) is strictly countably bi-quotient.NEWLINENEWLINESome other results related to the so-called countably bi-quotient mappings are also found.
