Relative equilibria of the curved \(N\)-body problem. (Q449563)

This monograph includes some results since 2008 regarding the equations of motion that extend the Newtonian \(N\)-body problem to curved space. First, an introduction is given about the motivation, the problem, its history and structure. The following 5 parts concern: (I) Background and equations of motion, (II) Isometrics and relative equilibria, (III) Criteria and qualitative behavior, (IV) Examples in (a) positive elliptic relative equlibria (RE), (b) positive elliptic-elliptic RE, and (c) negative RE. In part (V), the two-dimentional case is presented, and the (i) polygonal RE, (ii) Lagrangian and Eulerian RE, and (iii) Saari's conjecture cases also appear in this part. The monograph can be suggested for new researchers in that field.
