A Lie algebra is non-degenerate if it has no elements \(x\) such that ad\(_x^2=0\). A Lie algebra replacement for the prime radical is the Kostrikin radical; the least ideal with non-degenerate quotient. For \(G\)-graded Lie algebras there is also the graded Kostrikin radical; the least graded ideal with graded non-degenerate quotient. The authors show that for \(G\)-graded Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0, the Kostrikin radical is graded and that the two radicals coincide.
