The author first considers a single charged particle motion in composed one-dimensional wave fields and then generalizes the results to a system of \(N\) particles. In some special cases, the particle velocity is shown to follow a Wiener process in the limit of the dense wave spectrum. The proof gives a full probabilistic foundation to the quasi-linear approximation in this domain. The extension of this result to an arbitrary number of particles reveals the possibility that the ensemble picture can be applied as approximation in a single realization of the stochastic wave field.
