In the monograph under review, the author presents basic and classical properties of inner functions in the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\) of \(\mathbb{C}\). In what follows, \(\varphi\) denotes an inner function, that is, a bounded analytic function with almost everywhere unimodular boundary values. The central result of Chapter~1 is the canonical factorization theorem for the Hardy spaces \(H^p(\mathbb{D})\), \(0<p\leq \infty\). In particular, as stated in Corollary~1.13, each inner function is the product of a Blaschke product and a singular inner function. Given an inner function \(\varphi\), the Frostman shifts \(\varphi_w\), \(w\in\mathbb{D}\), are defined as \[ \varphi_w(z) = \frac{w-\varphi(z)}{1-\overline{w}\varphi(z)}, \quad z\in\mathbb{D}. \] The main result of Chapter~2 is the following theorem of Frostman: \(\varphi_w\) is a Blaschke product for all \(w\in \mathbb{D}\setminus E_\varphi\), where \(E_\varphi\) is a set of logarithmic capacity zero. The rest of the book is devoted to the study of \(H^p\)- and \(B^p\)-means of \(\varphi^\prime\). By definition, the space \(B^p= B^p(\mathbb{D})\) consists of those analytic functions \(f: \mathbb{D}\to\mathbb{C}\) for which \[ \|f\|_{B^p} = \int_0^1 \int_0^{2\pi} |f(r e^{i\theta})| (1-r)^{\frac{1}{p}-2}\, d\theta dr < \infty. \] Preliminary results are collected in Chapters~3 and 4. In particular, derivatives of finite Blaschke products are considered in Chapter~3. Assuming that \(\varphi\) is a singular inner function, the author studies the properties \(\varphi^\prime \in H^p\) and \(\varphi^\prime \in B^p\) in Chapters~5 and 6, respectively. Chapters~7--9 contain analogous results for the Blaschke products. Key theorems of Chapters~5--9 were proved by \textit{P.\,R.\,Ahern} and \textit{D.\,N.\,Clark} [Mich. Math. J. 21, 115--127 (1974; Zbl 0277.30027); ibid. 23, No.\,2, 107--118 (1976; Zbl 0343.30023)]. The growth of integral means of \(\varphi^\prime\) is studied in the final Chapter~10.
