The author gives examples of finitely generated infinite covolume subgroups of \(\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{R})^r\) (\(r\geq 2\)) with a ``big'' limit set, that is, with a limit set containing an open subset of the geometric boundary. This gives a good example of a class of discrete subgroups of semi-simple Lie groups. The examples are given by the so-called semi-arithmetic Fuchsian groups admitting modular embeddings. Semi-arithmetic Fuchsian groups constitute a specific class of Fuchsian groups which can be embedded up to commensurability in arithmetic subgroups of \(\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{R})^r\). The datails of the proofs are interesting.
