This quite voluminous book presents the basic theory of holomorphic functions in one complex variable and relates it to several topics in real analysis and potential theory as the Green formulae, harmonic functions and the Poisson equation, Dirichlet problems, the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equation, complex Fourier or Laplace transform. Exercices are included. Much attention is devoted to the details of the proofs and makes the whole a pleasant easy reading. One of my favourite proofs in the book is the very elegant approach to the planar Gauss-Green formulae (Theorem 6.8). The book includes chapters on conformal mappings and Runge's approximation theorems as well as a section on ideals of the algebra of holomorphic functions on planar domains. A nice solution to the interpolation problem for entire functions is given in Theorem 11.18. I strongly recommend this book for an introductory course as well as a variety of advanced courses in function theory and real analysis.
