The authors introduce the concept of the \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropy for classical and quantum cases. These \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropies are defined by the concept of majorization and Ky-Fan \(k\)-norm, respectively. They give the fundamental properties (1B)--(5B) and (1C)--(5C) for classical and quantum cases, respectively. As main results, they give three theorems as follows. [Th. 3.3] The ordering between classical \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropy and quantum \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropy. [Th. 3.4] The inequalities on the difference of quantum \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropy for composite system and reduced system. [Th. 3.9] The equality conditions of quantum \(k\)th-partial Rényi entropy for two different quantum states imply the equality of two eigenvalues. To prove these theorems, the authors apply operator theoretical (matrix analytical) tools such as operator monotone function, operator convex function and Young inequality for positive operators so that physicists and also mathematicians having interest in entropy and operator theory may be able to enjoy to read this paper.
