The authors study the AFM spin-wave excitation spectrum for the anisotropic \(J_1-J_2\) and the isotropic quasi-two-dimensional Heisenberg models with arbitrary spins. The Tyablikov self-consistent decoupling method is applied in order to calculate the temperature dependence of the magnetization and the Néel temperature. A comparison with experimental results for high-temperature cuprate superconductors and iron-based compounds is also provided. The itinerant nature of the spin dynamics may result in a strong damping and renormalization of the spin-wave excitations as observed in experiments for the high-energy part of the spin-wave spectrum. That is why the authors deduce that for a consistent description of spin dynamics in the Fe-based compounds a more general model that takes the interaction between localized spins and itinerant-like electrons into account should be used.
