Dehn twists are among the main fruitful sources of interesting symplectic diffeomorphisms. In this paper, the authors study isotopy questions for certain fibered Dehn twists, in terms of contact geometry of contact manifolds, whose open books have powers of fibered Dehn twists as monodromy, these are the so called Boothby-Wang orbibundles over symplectic orbifolds, and are essentially orbifold variants of classical prequantization circle bundles. To this end they apply the developing theory of mean Euler characteristic in contact and symplectic homology, which allows one to extract (often) computable data from the (often) intractable data of chain complexes coming from analytic Floer theory. The results nicely complement those of Paul Biran, and Emanuel Giroux.
