This paper generalizes the construction of the complex structure on \(S^{2k-1} \times S^{2m-1}\) in [\textit{J. J. Loeb} and \textit{M. Nicolau}, Math. Ann. 306, No. 4, 781--817 (1996; Zbl 0860.32001)]. For those concrete examples, see the review by \textit{J. Loeb} for [loc. cit.].NEWLINENEWLINEIn [loc. cit.], the authors considered the line bundles \(L_i =\mathbb C^{n_i} -0\) over \(\mathbb{CP}^{n_i -1}\) for \(i=1, 2\). Let \(C\) be an action of the complex numbers on \(L_1 \times L_2\). Then the authors of [loc. cit.] obtained complex structures on the product of the circle bundles over \(\mathbb{CP}^{n_i -1}\) by the quotient \(L_1 \times L_2 /C\). They obtained the elliptic surfaces, the Hopf manifolds and Calabi-Eckmann manifolds as some of the examples.NEWLINENEWLINEIn the present paper, the authors start with line bundles \(L_i\) over compact complex manifolds \(M_i\). Then by the same construction they obtain complex structures over the product of the circle bundles over \(M_i\).NEWLINENEWLINESee their abstract.NEWLINENEWLINEThe reviewer would like to mention that another kind of natural generalization of the complex manifolds as elliptic surfaces, the Hopf manifolds and Calabi-Eckmann manifolds are the compact complex homogeneous spaces dealt with, for example, in [\textit{D. Guan}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 354, No. 11, 4493--4504 (2002; Zbl 1050.53033); J. Algebra 273, No. 1, 33--59 (2004; Zbl 1050.22025)].
