Let \(X\) be a compact Kähler manifold and \(f:X\to X\) be a dominant meromorphic map which is 1-stable, i.e., \((f^n)^\star=(f^\star)^n\) where \(f^\star:H^{1,1}(X)\to H^{1,1}(X)\) is the induced map on the \((1,1)\) Dolbeault cohomology group. Assuming that \(\lambda_1(f)^2>\lambda_2(f)\), where \(\lambda_p(f)\) denotes the \(p\)-th dynamical degree, the author proves that \(\lambda_1(f)\) is a simple eigenvalue of \(f^\star\) and it is the unique eigenvalue of modulus greater than \(\sqrt{\lambda_2(f)}\). He also proves a similar result for the first and second spectral radius of \(f\). For the latter result \(f\) is not assumed to be 1-stable but it is assumed that \(f^\star:H^{2,2}(X)\to H^{2,2}(X)\) preserves the cone of pseudoeffective \((2,2)\) classes.
