Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(\pi(G)\) be the set of prime divisors of \(|G|\) and \(\varpi(G)\) be the \textit{spectrum} of \(G\), i.e. the set of all orders of elements of \(G\). The set \(\varpi(G)\) determines the \textit{prime graph} \(\Gamma(G)\) of \(G\), in which the vertex set is \(\pi(G)\) and two different vertices \(p\) and \(q\) are adjacent if and only if \(pq\in\varpi(G)\). A group \(G\) is recognizable by prime graph (resp., by spectrum) if, for any finite group \(H\), the equality \(\Gamma(H)=\Gamma(G)\) (resp. \(\varpi(H)=\varpi(G)\)) implies \(H\simeq G\). It is interesting to observe that \(\Gamma(A_{10})=\Gamma(C_3\times J_2)\) (\(J_2\) denotes the second sporadic group of Janko); in particular \(A_{10}\) is not recognizable by prime graph. The aim of the paper under review is to provide a complete classification of the finite groups \(H\) such that \(\Gamma(H)=\Gamma(A_{10})\). The main theorem (too long to be reported here) furnishes the list of eleven classes of groups with the same prime graph as \(A_{10}\).
