    The purpose of this paper is to prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the additive Cauchy equation as well as of the quadratic equation in matrix random normed spaces by using the fixed point method. The main result of this work is the following statement (see Theorem 2.2). Let \(\varphi: X^{2}\to [0, \infty[\) be a function such that there exists an \(\alpha<1\) with \[ \varphi(a, b)\leq \frac{\alpha}{2}\varphi(2a, 2b) \qquad \left(a, b\in X\right). \] Let \(f: X\to Y\) be a mapping satisfying \[ \mu_{D f_{n}\left([x_{i, j}, [y_{i, j}]]\right)}^{(n)}(t)\geq \frac{t}{t+\sum_{i, j=1}^{n}\varphi(x_{i, j}, y_{i, j})} \] for all \(t>0\) and \(x=[x_{i, j}], y=[y_{i, j}]\in M_{n}(X)\). Then \[ A(a):= \lim_{l\to \infty}2^{l}f\left(\frac{a}{2^{l}}\right) \] exists for all \(a\in X\) and defines an additive function \(A: X\to Y\) such that \[ \mu_{f_{n}([x_{i, j}])-A_{n}([x_{i, j}])}(t)\geq \frac{2(1-\alpha)t}{2(1-\alpha)t+n^{2}\alpha \sum_{i, j=1}^{n}\varphi(x_{i, j}, x_{i, j})} \] for all \(t>0\) and \(x=[x_{i, j}]\in M_{n}(X)\).
