The existence of heteroclinic solutions of the prescribed curvature equation with a double-well potential is proven. Besides other things, numerical simulations made by \textit{A. Kurganov} and \textit{P. Rosenau} in [Nonlinearity 19, No. 1, 171--193 (2006; Zbl 1094.35063)] are justified in this way.
