The authors study some properties of the central sequence algebra of a \(C^*\)-algebra and use them to present an alternative approach to the result of \textit{H. Matui} and \textit{Y. Sato} [Acta Math. 209, No. 1, 179--196 (2012; Zbl 1277.46028)] on tensorial absorption of the Jiang-Su algebra, relaxing several assumptions on \(C^*\)-algebras.
