Let \(Q_N\) be a non-singular quadric variety of \(\mathrm{PG}(N,q)\). The functional code \[ C_h(Q_N) = \{ (f(P_1),f(P_2),\dots,f(P_n)) \;| \;f \in F_h \cup \{ 0 \} \}, \] where the \(P_i\) are the points and \(F_h\) is the set of all homogeneous polynomials of degree \(h\) defined by \(N+1\) variables. These codes are studied for \(N \geq 6, h \geq 3\), \(q \geq 9\). Specifically, they consider the functional codes arising from the intersections of the algebraic hypersurfaces of small degree \(h\) with a given non-singular quadric \(Q_N\) in \(\mathrm{PG}(N,q)\). In particular, the authors prove for small \(h\) that the largest intersections of a non-singular quadric \(Q_N\) in \(\mathrm{PG}(N,q)\), \(N\geq 6\), \(q>9\) with the algebraic hypersurface of degree \(h\) are equal to the union of \(h\) quadric varieties of dimension \(N-2.\)
