    The authors study a Sturm-Liouville type problem on the half line: \[ -y''+q(x)y = \mu\rho(x)y \text{ for }0 \leq x < \infty \text{ and } y'(0)-hy(0)=0, \] where the potential \(q\) is real, \(\int_{x \geq 0} (1+x)|q(x)| \, dx<\infty\), \(\mu\) is a complex spectral parameter, \(h>0\) and the ``weight'' function is \(\rho(x) =-1\) if \(0\leq x \leq 1\) and \(\rho(x)=1\) if \(x>1\). One result is an asymptotic formula for the eigenvalues \(\mu_n\), \(n = 1,2,3,\dots\), if \(\lambda_n^2= \mu_n\) and \(\lambda_n\) has a nonnegative imaginary part then \[ \lambda_n = i \left[\pi\left(n+ \frac14\right)-1 +\frac{1}{n\pi^2}\int_0^1q(t)\,dt +o\left(\frac{1}{n}\right)\right] \] as \(n \to \infty\). Additionally the normalizing numbers are introduced and their asymptotic distribution derived and the scattering function is described in terms of the Jost solution.
