The author studies the relations between the dynamics of two commuting time-periodic Tonelli Hamiltonians, defined on \(T^*M\times \mathbb{T}\), where \(M\) is a closed Riemannian manifold and \(\mathbb{T}={\mathbb{R}}/{\mathbb{Z}}\) is the 1-torus. We recall that a Hamiltonian is called Tonelli if it is fiberwise convex and superlinear. The author proves that the two commuting Hamiltonians have the same Aubry and Mañé sets, and the same barrier functions. In this way, he extends to the time-periodic case some of the results known for the autonomous case [the author and \textit{J. Li}, J. Differ. Equations 250, No. 11, 4104--4123 (2011; Zbl 1221.70025); \textit{M. Zavidovique}, Nonlinearity 23, No. 4, 793--808 (2010; Zbl 1196.37116)].
