The author considers the so-called Feigenbaum equation of second type: \[ \left\{\begin{aligned} &\varphi(f(x))=f(f(\varphi(x))),\\ &f(0)=1, \quad 0\leq f(x)\leq 1, \quad x \in [0,1],\\ \end{aligned} \right. \] where \(\varphi(x)\) is a \(C^{\infty}\) increasing function on \([0,1]\), with \(\varphi(0)=0\), \(0<\varphi'(x)<1\) for \(x \in [0,1]\). Starting with a function defined on an interval of the form \([0,a]\) satisfying certain conditions, the continuous solutions and the \(C^{\infty}\)-solutions of the equation above having a single minimum are constructed.
