The authors in the paper under review present the genus-2 Goeritz group of \(\mathbb{S}^2 \times \mathbb{S}^1\). The genus-2 Goeritz groups are known for a few more spaces. The genus-2 Goeritz groups of \(\mathbb{S}^3\) can be obtained by the work of \textit{L. Goeritz} [Abh. Math. Semin. Univ. Hamb. 9, 244--259 (1933; Zbl 0007.08102; JFM 59.1247.01)], \textit{M. Scharlemann} [Bol. Soc. Mat. Mex., III. Ser. 10, 503--514 (2004; Zbl 1095.57017)], \textit{E. Akbas} [Pac. J. Math. 236, No. 2, 201--222 (2008; Zbl 1157.57002)], and \textit{S. Cho} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 136, No. 3, 1113--1123 (2008; Zbl 1149.57025)]. The genus-2 Goeritz groups of lens spaces \(L(p,q)\) are partially presented by \textit{S. Cho} [Pac. J. Math. 265, No. 1, 1--16 (2013; Zbl 1290.57026)] and by \textit{S. Cho} and \textit{Y. Koda} [``Connected primitive disk complexes and genus two Goeritz groups of lens spaces'', \url{arXiv:1505.04993}]. The genus-2 Goeritz groups of \(\mathbb{S}^2 \times \mathbb{S}^1 \# L(p,q)\) and \(L(p,q) \# L(p,q)\) are partially presented by Cho and Koda [\textit{S. Cho} and \textit{Y. Koda}, Int. Math. Res. Not. 2015, No. 12, 4344--4371 (2015; Zbl 1322.57017)]. To present the genus-2 Goeritz group \(\mathcal{G}\), the authors construct a tree \(\mathcal{T}\) on which \(\mathcal{G}\) can act. \(\mathcal{T}\) is the barycentric subdivision of the primitive disk complex. The quotient of \(\mathcal{T}\) by the action of \({\mathcal G}\) becomes two vertices connected by an edge. Then, \(\mathcal{G}\) is the free product of the stabilizer subgroup of one vertex and that of the other amalgamated by the stabilizer subgroup of the edge by Bass-Serre theory. The authors present each stabilizer subgroup concretely.
