An algebraic Ricci soliton on a Lie group \(G\) is a left-invariant metric \(g\) with Ricci operator \(\mathrm{Ric}_g\) which satisfies the following equation on the Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g} =\mathrm{Lie}(G)\) \[ \mathrm{Ric}_g=c\mathrm{Id}+D, \] where \(D\) is a derivation of \(\mathfrak{g}\) and \(c=\mathrm{const}\). An algebraic soliton defines a Ricci soliton on the group \(G\), i.e., a solution of the differential equation \[ \partial_t g=- 2\mathrm{Ric}_g,\quad g(0) = g_0 \] where \(g_t\) is a curve in the space of metrics on \(G\). The author classifies nilsolitons on 7-dimensional simply connected nilpotent Lie groups \(G\), using the classification of 7-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras and some general results by \textit{Y.
