The purpose of this article is to derive a nonlinear slip interface law between a fracture flow and a porous medium flow. The problem depends on a small parameter \(\varepsilon\), that represents the size of a regular mesh which covers the two dimensional porous medium \(\Omega_2= (0,1)\times (-1,0)\). The flow in the fracture (with its width of the order \(\varepsilon^{\delta}\)) is modeled by the stationary incompressible Navier-Stokes flow with Reynolds' number of the order \(\varepsilon^{-\gamma}\). The porous medium flow is described by the Darcy's law. The parameters \(\gamma\) and \(\delta\) satisfy the following relations: \(2\gamma<3\delta\); \(0<\delta<1\); \(0<\gamma<3/2\); \(4\delta<2\gamma+1\). With these assumptions on the parameters \(\gamma\) and \(\delta\), the authors obtain an approximation that satisfies a nonlinear slip law, independently of the regime for the bulk flow. The last section presents the rigorous justification of the nonlinear slip law, generalizing the law of Beavers and Joseph.
