Analytical investigation of an integral equation method for electromagnetic scattering by biperiodic structures (Q479106)

The authors consider the scattering of time-harmonic plane waves by a \(2 \pi\)-biperiodic polyhedral Lipschitz surface which is separating two different materials of constant electric permittivity and magnetic permeability. Potential methods are used to obtain singular boundary integral equations that model the problem. Gårding type inequalities are considered to derive Fredholm properties of the boundary integral equations. Moreover, existence and uniqueness of solutions (upon specific assumptions on the electromagnetic material parameters) are also obtained.
