The idea of the possibility of expressing the geometry of Riemannian submanifolds using multi-array brackets on the embedding functions has been investigated by the current authors along with J. Hoppe in a series of earlier papers. This paper should be considered as part of this series. The motivation comes from `membrane theory'. The current paper presents the formalism of multi-brackets in the context of pseudo-Riemannian geometry generalising their earlier results to more general types of multi-brackets. One should note that these multi-brackets do not necessarily satisfy any form of antisymmetry nor a higher form of the Jacobi identity. They do however satisfy a Leibniz rule over the standard multiplication of functions. The authors pose and answer the question `are there classes of manifolds for which one can express geometric quantities using a Poisson bracket?' They show that almost (para-)Kähler manifolds provide an important class.
