Nonconcordant links with homology cobordant zero-framed surgery manifolds (Q482087)

The authors study the relationship between link concordance and homology cobordance of the associated zero-framed surgered 3-manifold. In particular, examples are constructed for two contrasting cases: An infinite family of non-concordant \(3\)-component links with unknotted components and pairwise linking numbers \(0\) in which no pair of the associated zero-surgery manifolds are homeomorphic but every pair are homologically cobordant (by a cobordism in which medians are freely homotopic). An infinite family of non-concordant \(m\)-component links (\(m>1\)) with unknotted components and identical Milnor invariants (mostly \(0\)) in which every pair of the associated zero-surgery manifolds are homeomorphic by a homeomorphism preserving homotopy classes of meridians.
