This paper is a continuation of the author's earlier work on the boundary behaviour of holomorphic isometric copies of the Poincaré disk on bounded symmetric domains [Acta Math. Sci., Ser. B, Engl. Ed. 29, No. 4, 881--902 (2009; Zbl 1212.53027); Sci. China, Ser. A 52, No. 12, 2628--2646 (2009; Zbl 1193.53150)]. In this paper the author studies the case where the holomorphic curve crosses the boundary of the bounded symmetric domain in a smooth point. Let \(D\) be the unit disc in \(\mathbb C\) and fix a boundary point \(b_0 \in \partial D\). Let \(U\) be a disc of radius \(\epsilon\) centered at \(b_0\). Let \(\Omega \Subset \mathbb C^N\) be a bounded symmetric domain in its Harish-Chandra realization, and let \(f: U \rightarrow \mathbb C^N\) be a holomorphic embedding such that \(f(U \cap D) \subset \Omega\) and \(f(U \cap \partial D)\) is in the smooth locus of \(\partial \Omega\). Denote by \(\sigma(z)\) the second fundamental form at \(z=f(w)\) of the locally closed submanifold \(f(U \cap D) \subset \Omega\) with respect to the Kähler-Einstein metric \(g\) on \(\Omega\). Then for a general point \(b \in U \cap \partial D\) the second fundamental form \(\sigma(f(w))\) is asymptotically zero at \(b\). More precisely, for any neighbourhood \(U_0\) of \(b\) in \(\mathbb C^N\) such that \(U_0 \Subset U\) there exists a positive constant \(C\) depending on \(U_0\) such that \(|| \sigma(f(w)) || \leq C \delta(w)\) for any \(w \in U_0 \cap \Omega\).
