Half-linear Sturm-Liouville problem with weights: asymptotic behavior of eigenfunctions (Q483384)

Under suitable conditions on the functions \(\rho\) and \(\sigma\), the authors prove an asymptotic estimate for the decay rate of the eigenfunctions, \(u\), of the nonlinear equation \[ (\rho|u'|^{p-2}u')'+\lambda \sigma |u|^{p-2}u=0 \text{ on } (a,b) \] with boundary conditions \[ {\lim}_{t\to a+}\rho (t)|u'(t)|^{p-2}u'(t)={\lim}_{t\to b-}u(t)=0. \]
