The authors gives a negative answer to D. V. Lytkina's question 18.57 in the Kourovka Notebook by constructing a non-soluble locally finite \(2\)-group \(G\) generated by involutions in which \([x,u,u]=1\) for all involutions \(u\) in \(G\) and all \(x\in G\). In fact, the group \(G\) constructed in the paper is of exponent \(4\), and several known properties of groups of exponent \(4\) are cleverly used in the proof, as well as a computer-aided calculation.
