Taking into background the famous question of F. Gross known as ``Gross question'' in the uniqueness literature, the author obtains some sufficient conditions when two non-constant meromorphic functions share a particular set together with \(\infty\). The results in the present paper improve some previous results of the reviewer [\textit{A. Banerjee}, J. Adv. Math. Stud. 4, No. 1, 1--10 (2011; Zbl 1239.30013)] by reducing the cardinality of the main range set and at the same time weakening the condition on the deficiencies. Standard methods of Nevanlinna theory are resorted by the author to obtain the result.
