For equations such as the porous medium equation \[ u_t= \Delta(u^m) \] and the \(p\)-Laplacian equation \[ u_t = \mathrm{div}(|Du|^{p-2}Du), \] the evolution of solutions follows an intrinsic geometry. In this interesting paper, this phenomenon is analysed in a specific case. Let \(\Omega\) be a domain of \(R^N\) and let \(u\) be the solution of the singular porous medium equation or the \(p\)-Laplacian equation, either of a suitable non-homogeneous Cauchy-Dirichlet problem in \(\Omega \times R^+\) or of a suitable Cauchy problem in \(R^N\times R^+\). Lastly, let \(B\) be an open ball in \(\Omega\), whose closure intersects the boundary of \(\Omega\) in only a point and let \(\alpha\) be a suitable constant depending only on \(p\), \(m\) and \(N\). Then, the author derives asymptotic estimates for the integral of \(u^{\alpha}\) over \(B\) in terms of the principal curvatures of \(\partial \Omega\). This result gives us a deep perspective of the interaction between fast diffusion and the geometry of the domain.
