The first aim of the paper is a computation of motives of moduli for pairs on a smooth projective curve in terms of Zagier-type formula. The second one is computation of the rank \(r\) non-abelian zeta functions by an explicit Zagier-type formula and verification of the uniformity conjecture in cases when \(r=2,3\). ``The special uniformity conjecture of \textit{L. Weng} [``Special uniformity of zeta functions I. Geometric aspect. \url{arXiv:1203.2305}] suggests that the rank \(r\) pure zeta function coincides with the group zeta function associated to the special linear group \(\mathrm{SL}_r\)''. The authors establish a relation of non-abelian zeta functions introduced by Weng with motivic invariants for the moduli spaces of stable pairs of arbitrary rank over a curve. In particular their result generalizes the counting miracle conjecture of Weng. The authors apply their approach to compute higher zeta functions for curves over finite fields. Also they derive wall-crossing formula for invariants of the moduli for stable pairs and express them in terms of the motive of a curve. Previously such expressions were known only for rank 2 and 3 from papers of \textit{M. Thaddeus} [Invent. Math. 117, No. 2, 317--353 (1994; Zbl 0882.14003)] and \textit{V. Muñoz} [Geom. Dedicata 136, 17--46 (2008; Zbl 1157.14018)], \textit{V. Muñoz} et al. [Int. J. Math. 18, No. 6, 695--721 (2007; Zbl 1120.14024)] respectively. The basic ideas, as the authors declare, go back to Thaddeus [loc. cit.] but their approach ``does not use the geomtery of moduli spaces directly. Instead, we use ideas from motivic wall-crossing and derive the behaviour of the motivic invariants from identities in a Hall algebra of a category of triples.''
