The approach considered in this work is motivated by the medical fact of importance clinically observable data such as the total and cumulative mass of metastases, rate of their birth and mass rather than the metastatic density, which is traditionally described by classic mathematical models. Thus, PDEs of the Iwata model for metastatic growth are reformulated in integrated terms that results in the form of Volterra integral equations with respect to the biological observables. The obtained system is extensively simulated using relevant medical parameters. As a byproduct to the result discussed from the clinical point of view, it is shown that the proposed representation has important advantages with respect to the computational efficiency.
