Let \(\mathbb{M}_{n}\) and \(\mathbb{P}_{n}\) be the sets of all \(n\times n\) complex matrices and \(n\times n\) complex positive definite matrices, respectively. In the paper, the authors study geodesic-affine maps on \(\mathbb{P}_{n}\). They first determine the structure of continuous bijective geodesic-affine maps on certain Riemannian manifolds that are induced by different so-called kernel functions. For example, for the kernel function \(g_{1}:\left( 0,\infty \right) \times \left( 0,\infty \right) \rightarrow\left( 0,\infty \right) \), \(g_{1}(x,y)= xy\), the authors prove the following result. Theorem. Let \(n\geq 3\). Suppose that \(\phi :\mathbb{P}_{n}\rightarrow \mathbb{P}_{n}\) is a continuous bijective map on \((\mathbb{P}_{n},K^{g_{1}})\), the Riemannian manifold induced by \(g_{1}\). Then \(\phi \) is a geodesic-affine map if and only if there exists an invertible matrix \(S\in \mathbb{M}_{n}\) such that, for all \(A\in \mathbb{P}_{n}\), \(\phi \) is of one of the forms \[ \phi (A)=(\det A)^{c}SAS^{\ast },\qquad \phi (A)=(\det A)^{c}SA^{T}S^{\ast } \tag{1} \] or of the forms \[ \phi (A)=(\det A)^{c}SA^{-1}S^{\ast },\qquad \phi (A)=(\det A)^{c}S(A^{-1})^{T}S^{\ast }. \tag{2} \] Here, \(c\) is a real number for which \(c\neq -\frac{1}{n}\) in (1) and \(c\neq \frac{1}{n}\) in (2). The authors next study the relationship between geodesic-affine maps and geodesic distance isometries. They show that every geodesic distance isometry is a geodesic-affine map. Finally, the authors study bijective maps which preserve the norm of all points of geodesic in Riemannian manifolds corresponding to different kinds of kernel functions. They show that these maps are also geodesic isometries, and hence geodesic-affine maps.
