The authors introduce the notion of pseudo-spherical normal Darboux images of curves on a timelike surface in the Minkowski space \(\mathbb{R}^3_1\) and investigate their geometric properties. After the introduction of the basic notions of Lorentz-Minkowski space, Lorentsian Darboux frame and the definition of two families of functions on a curve, which are a spacelike height function \(H^S\) and a timelike height function \(H^T\), the authors obtain by differentiating these functions new invariants \(\sigma_D\) and \(\sigma_H\) whose properties are characterized by some conditions on the derivatives of \(H^S\) and \(H^T\). Two important curves \(d_{\gamma}\) are defined in the de Sitter space and \(h_{\gamma}\) in the hyperbolic space by observing the conditions of first and second derivatives of \(H^S\) and \(H^T\), respectively. By \(d_{\gamma}\) it is called a de Sitter normal Darboux image of \(\gamma\) and by \(h_{\gamma}\) a hyperbolic normal Darboux image of \(\gamma\). It is shown that the de Sitter normal Darboux image \(d_{\gamma}\) is constant if and only if \(\sigma_D\equiv 0\). In this case the curve \(\gamma\) is a special curve on the surface \(M\), which is called a de Sitter-slice (or a \(D\)-slice) of \(M\). Also it is shown that the hyperbolic normal Darboux image \(h_{\gamma}\) is constant if and only if \(\sigma_H \equiv 0\). In conclusion it is given the relation of the de Sitter normal Darboux image and of the hyperbolic normal Darboux image of a spacelike curve \(\gamma\) in \(S^2_1\) with the singular set of a lightlike surface along \(\gamma\).
