The authors study the existence of at least one solution of the boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} & (\phi(u'))'+k(t)\phi(u')+f(t,u,u') =0,\quad t\in (a,b),\\ & u(a)=u(b)=0, \end{aligned} \] where \(k\) is continuous, \(f\) satisfies Carathéodory conditions and \(\phi\) is an increasing homomorphism. The methodology relies on the Leray-Schauder Alternative.
