Nonabelian composition factors of a finite group with arithmetic constraints on nonsolvable maximal subgroups. (Q492275)

\textit{R. M. Guralnick} [J. Algebra 81, 304-311 (1983; Zbl 0515.20011)] described maximal subgroups of primary indices in finite simple groups and the structure of finite groups in which every maximal subgroup has primary index. In the given paper, the authors obtain a complete description of nonabelian composition factors of a finite group in which every nonsolvable maximal subgroup has primary index. Moreover, they complete V. A. Vedernikov's description of nonabelian composition factors of a finite group in which every nonsolvable maximal subgroup is a Hall subgroup [see \textit{V. A. Vedernikov}, Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 285, Suppl. 1, S191-S202 (2014; Zbl 1305.20018); translation from Tr. Inst. Mat. Mekh. (Ekaterinburg) 19, No. 3, 71-82 (2013)].
