Summary: We give in this work the sufficient conditions on the positive solutions of the difference equation \(x_{n+1} =\alpha + (x^m_{n-1}/x^k_n)\), \(n= 0, 1,\dots,\) where \(\alpha\), \(k\), and \(m\in(0,\infty)\) under positive initial conditions \(x_{-1},x_0\) to be bounded, \(\alpha\)-convergent, the equilibrium point to be globally asymptotically stable and that every positive solution converges to a prime two-periodic solution. Our results coincide with that known for the cases \(m=k=1\) of \textit{A. M. Amleh} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 233, No. 2, 790--798 (1999; Zbl 0962.39004)] and \(m=1\) of \textit{A. E. Hamza} and \textit{A. Morsy} [Appl. Math. Lett. 22, No. 1, 91--95 (2009; Zbl 1163.39302)]. We offer improving conditions in the case of \(m=1\) of \textit{M. Gümüş} and \textit{Ö. Öcalan} [Discrete Dyn. Nat. Soc. 2012, Article ID 258502, 12 p. (2012; Zbl 1382.39012)] and explain our results by some numerical examples with figures.
