The authors study a fast multiphase image segmentation model in the spirit of a variational model level set. They use a weight function varying with locations to control the force of the local and global information dynamically. They make use of the split Bregman method to minimize the new energy functional. The results of the present paper are proved in a step by step manner. The paper concludes with some numerical results for several synthetic inhomogeneous images for the proposed model. It is a nice paper, written in an active domain of research.
