Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(X\) a conveniently good topological space (e.g., a quasiprojective complex or real variety) with a \(G\)-action and \(\phi:X\to X\) be a \(G\)-equivariant proper map. Using another approach to the definition of the equivariant Lefschetz number, the authors define an equivariant version of the zeta function of \(\phi\). This is a power series with coefficients from the Burnside ring. They establish an A'Campo type formula for the equivariant monodromy zeta function.
