The paper deals with the following nonlinear functional differential equation \[ \dot{y}(t)=-a(t)y(t)+b(t)f(y(t-\tau(t)) \] where \(\tau(t)=t-y(t)\), which generalizes many known models in mathematical biology. The main result of the paper is the following Theorem 3.1. Suppose there exist positive constants \(M\in(k,\tilde{k})\) and \(L\) such that \[ \frac{b^-}{a^+}f(k)\geq k,~ \frac{b^+}{a^-}f(m)\leq M, \] \[ a^+M+b^+f(m)\leq L,~ \frac{b^+}{a^-}f^{'}(k)(L+1)<1. \] Then equation (1) has a pseudo almost periodic solution in the region \(B=B^L\bigcap B^*\). The numbers \(k\), \(\tilde{k}\), \(m\) and the sets \(B^L\), \(B^*\) are defined in the paper.
