The author gives a classification of the distinguished tame supercuspidal representations of the symmetric pair \((\mathrm{Sp}_{4n}(F), \mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(E))\) where \(E\) is a quadratic extension of a \(p\)-adic field \(F\) of odd residual characterisitic. In other words, he describes those irreducible tame supercuspidal representations of \(\mathrm{Sp}_{4n}(F)\) admitting a nonzero \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(E)\)-invariant linear form. He applies the general theory developped by \textit{J. Hakim} and \textit{F. Murnaghan} [IMRP, Int. Math. Res. Pap. 2008, Article ID rpn005, 166 p. (2008; Zbl 1160.22008)] which gives a formula for the dimension of the space of such linear forms in terms of the inducing data of the representations. The methods are similar to the ones of \textit{J. Hakim} and \textit{J. Lansky} [Represent. Theory 16, 276--316 (2012; Zbl 1253.22010)]. In the same way, the author proves that there is no irreducible tame supercuspidal representation of the quasi-split unitary group in \(2n\) variables defined over \(F\) that are \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(F)\)-distinguished. The paper ends with an appendix written in collaboration with D. Jiang which contains three conjectures on local Arthur packets or parameters of \(\mathrm{Sp}_{4n}(F)\). The first conjecture describes the tempered local Arthur parameters whose associated local Arthur packet contains an \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(E)\)-distinguished supercuspidal representation for a quadratic extension \(E\) of \(F\) ; the second asserts that such a representation also belongs to a non-tempered local Arthur packet whose parameter's type is specified; the last puts these conjectural results within the framework of the work of \textit{Y. Sakellaridis} and \textit{A. Venkatesh} [``Periods and harmonic analysis on spherical varieties'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1203.0039}]. The authors leave the proofs to a future work.
