The authors consider \(m\)-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian manifolds \((M,g)\), with \(m \geq 2\) and with different additional symmetries of the curvature tensor field \(R\) or of the curvature operator \(\mathcal{R}\), in terms of their (multiple) covariant derivatives. The manifold \(M\) is said to be \(k\)-curvature homogeneous \((k-CH)\) if, for any \(P\), \(Q \in M\), there exists a linear isometry \(\Phi : T_PM \rightarrow T_QM\), such that \(\Phi^* (\nabla^l R_Q) = \nabla^l R_P\), for any \(0 \leq l \leq k\). Replacing \(R\) by \(\mathcal{R}\) and ``isometry'' by ``homothety'', we obtain the homothety \(k\)-curvature homogeneous (H-\(k\)-CH) manifolds. The authors give characterizations for H-\(k\)-CH manifolds and show that they generalize effectively the \(k\)-CH manifolds. They prove a classification result for H-\(k\)-CH manifolds which are not homogeneous and which have some non-zero scalar curvature invariant, and show that such manifolds are of cohomogeneity one; the local structure of these H-\(k\)-CH manifolds is also investigated. Examples are provided in the Lorentzian 3-dimensional setting.
