      The author of this very interesting paper studies the Fourier first boundary value problem for an infinite system of weakly coupled nonlinear differential-functional equations of the form \[ {\mathcal F}^i[z^i] (t,x)=f^i \bigl( t,x,z(t,.) \bigr)\;(i\in S), \] where \[ {\mathcal F}^i= \partial/ \partial t-{\mathcal A}^i,\;{\mathcal A}^i= \sum^m_{j,k=1} a^i_{jk} (t,x)\partial^2/ \partial x_j\partial x_k, \] \(x\in\mathbb{R}^m\), \((t,x)\in D=(0,T) \times G\), \(T<\infty\), \(G\subset \mathbb{R}^m \), \(G\) is an open bounded domain with \(C^{2+\alpha} (0<\alpha\leq 1)\) boundary. The Fourier first boundary value problem is given for the function \(z=z(t,x)\) that is a solution of the considered system satisfying \(z=g(t,x)\) for \((t,x) \in \Sigma\), where \(\Sigma= D_0\cup \sigma\), \(\sigma=(0,T) \times\partial G\), \(D_0= \{(t,x):t=0,\;x\in\overline G\}\), \(\overline D=D \cup\Sigma\) and \(g= (g^1,g^2, \dots)\). The author assumes that \(f^i(.,.,s)\) \((i\in S)\) are increasing functions and Lipschitz continuous with respect to \(s\) and belong to \(C^{0+ \alpha (\overline D)}\), the coefficients \(a^i_{jk}(t,x) =a^i_{kj}(t,x)\) are Hölder continuous with respect to \((t,x)\) in \(\overline D\) and \(g^i\in C^{2+ \alpha} (\Sigma)\). Then, using some known results of J. Szarski on differential-functional inequalities and a comparison theorem for infinite systems, he proves existence and uniqueness of the solutions to the problem under consideration.
