The paper under review studies the Marcinkiewicz \(\theta\)-means of function \(f:\mathbb{T}^2 \to \mathbb{R}\) \[ \sigma_n^\theta f(x,y) = \sum_{j=0}^\infty \Delta_1 \theta(j,n) s_j f(x,y), \] where \(s_j f(x,y)\) are square partial sums of the Fourier series \[ s_j f(x,y) = \sum_{\|(k,l)\|_{\infty}\leq j} \hat{f}(k,l) e^{i (k,j)\cdot(x,y) } \] \(\theta(k,l)\) is a double indexed sequence of reals satisfying certain summability conditions and \(\Delta_1 \theta (k,l) = \theta (k,l) - \theta (k+1,l)\). First the author shows that Fejer, Abel and Cesàro summation methods correspond to the Marcinkiewicz \(\theta\)-summation under appropriate choices of sequence \(\theta(k,l)\). Further, the author establishes the convergence of Marcinkiewicz \(\theta\)-means of \(f\in L^1(\mathbb{T}^2)\) functions almost everywhere on \(\mathbb{T}^2\) provided sequence \(\theta\) satisfies some conditions. More precisely the convergence is established at every so-called modified strong Lebesgue point of \(f\in L^1(\mathbb{T}^2)\). Finally, the author studies the strong summability of Marcinkiewicz \(\theta\)-means \[ R^r_k f(x,y) = \sum_{k=0}^\infty \Delta_1 \theta(k,n) |s_k(f)(x,y) - f(x,y)|^r \] at so-called Gabisoniya points \((x,y)\in \mathbb{T}^2\) of function \(f\in L^1(\mathbb{T}^2)\). Imposing certain conditions on sequence \(\theta\), it is shown that at each Gabisoniya point \((x,y)\in \mathbb{T}^2\) \[ \lim_{k\to \infty} R^r_k f(x,y) = 0, \] for \(r\in (0,2]\). Similar results about Fejer, Abel and Cesàro strong summabilities follow then as corollaries.
