In the paper under review the authors derive Harnack estimates for the conjugate heat kernel in an abstract geometric flow. The calculations involve a correction term \(\mathcal{D}\), defined by \textit{R. Müller} in [J. Reine Angew. Math. 643, 39--57 (2010; Zbl 1204.53054)]. An expression of \(\mathcal{D}\) is given in the introduction. When \(\mathcal{D}\) is nonnegative, a Harnack inequality is obtained. The paper contains 3 sections. The proofs of the main results, Theorems 1.1 and 1.2, are rigorously prepared and given, based on several lemmas. For the second theorem, the authors obtain several estimates on the heat kernel using maximum principle and the monotone framework; they derive a gradient estimate and an upper bound for positive solutions of the conjugate heat equation. The paper provides a unified framework for some known results, as corresponding results of \textit{L. Ni} [J. Geom. Anal. 14, No. 1, 87--100 (2004; Zbl 1044.58030)], \textit{G. Perelman} [arXiv e-print service, Paper No. 0211159, 39 p. (2002; Zbl 1130.53001)] and \textit{H. Tran} [``Harnack estimates for Ricci flow on a warped product'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1211.6448}].
